Haunted Lane is located at the home of Michael Cunningham and his family in Howell, NJ. Its a small time yard
haunt with big time aspirations and dreams. 2005 will be our first year that you could
call the display a yard haunt, previous years we just put out a few tombstones and a couple cheesy
cardboard window decorations.
What attracted me to this hobby? A couple things...
- A strong and fond childhood memory of a yard haunt put on by some
neighbors when I was a kid. They had a giant (or what seemed giant at the time) witches pot, the wife
would stir it, dressed as a witch (Green makeup and all), and smoke would come out of the pot. They had tombstones
everywhere. It was like visiting the Haunted Mansion at Disney World.
- This hobby allows me to explore many of my interests (woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, electronics, programming,
etc. ) and it also exposes me to other creative type endeavors that I would normally never try (painting, molding,
casting, sculpture, etc). The best part is after you put in all this hard work on your projects, hundreds, possibly thousands
of people enjoy them at Halloween.
Obviously I dont haunt my yard for a living, so what do I do?
I am a Senior Computer Security Analyst for a small financial firm. I have been doing computer security work for the past 6
years. Previously, I was a UNIX System Administrator specializing in Solaris and Linux. I am currently responsible for all facets
of computer, network, and physical security at my company which moves on the order of 100 million dollars daily through its
computer systems.
